Hooray! A Trampoline!

We've been busy this past 2 weeks...enjoying our new trampoline. The weather is not being too cooperative, but anytime we get the chance we are on it. I knew we needed to get our own when the boys kept sneaking into the neighbors yard to jump on theirs. So hopefully this will keep our kids in our yard a little more.

And to keep other kids out of our yard...we are in the process of putting up a fence. :-)

I researched trampolines a little and knew I needed an enclosed one to keep the kids safe. We ended up buying one at Sam's Club. It is huge but very sturdy. And it even has a basketball hoop!

Kyler was so excited when we were putting it together that he called the basketball hoop his!

We finally got it up and boys were able to enjoy it!

And here is a picture of the whole trampoline. Oh yeah, forgot to mention it is a square trampoline. Really fun for chasing each other around the edge!

Now if I can only find something that is this fun for the winter time...

A 5 yr old's struggle

In our last neighborhood newspaper, there was an article that brought me to tears. It was about a sweet 5 year old girl that has a brain tumor wrapped around her brain stem. She was a normal little girl like any other, then they noticed her speech starting the slur and she started losing her balance more. Their worst fears were confirmed when they found out she had cancer.

She is currently undergoing chemotherapy. The Make a Wish Foundation has granted some of her wishes. One was to drive a toy car. Another was to go to disneyland and the last one was to meet President Monson. The Make A Wish Foundation was able to grant the first 2 wishes but could not grant the last. I don't know how it happened, but President Monson heard about it and arranged to spend some time with her.

Reading the story was so sad and yet so inspiring of the strength people can have going through hard times. It brings back some memories too. My sister Cassie had a tumor in her spinal cord (non cancerous) that caused her great pain. My parents flew her to New York to have the only qualified doctor in the United States successfully remove it.

This little girl is so cute and sweet, if you have a moment, take a look at her blog her family set up for her.

It's Official! Super Connor Is Progressing

...enough that they have approved him to go 4 times a week to school! You might be wondering why I am excited about this. After all he is only 3 1/2 years old. He loves school. He asks every morning if he gets to ride the bus to go to school. They don't have school on mondays so his new schedule is tuesday thru friday 9-12.

We have seen so much progress during this last school year. He is speaking more...usually 3 word sentences. The main reason that they pushed to get him more school is that his frusteration level has gone up due to not being able to communicate. Which means he is ready to learn more.

He is currently using a picture exchange program where he has to find and picture and show an adult to let them know what he wants. It has been working really well and he has been picking up lots of new words. The next step is longer sentences.

We are so excited for him! Way to go Connor! You're our little super hero!
