Basement Pictures

We've been finished with the basement for almost 2 weeks now. Just some small things to finish here and there. So I decided I better get some pictures up for everyone to see. It turned out really nice. I used the same color on the walls that my friend Alysha has through out her house. It is a nice buttery tan color. The carpet is a pretty berber carpet with flecks of tans and browns.

The smaller room has a futon in it and we turned the larger room into a workout room. Thank you to our friends Alysha and Ryan who gave us the bench and squat workout set. Randy was so excited to put it together once the carpet was in. Thank you!!

Pioneer Day

We spent Pioneer Day this year on the lake. We were surprised how much the water had gone down from July 4th. The boys were more interested in throwing rocks and running along the shore this time.

I would have to say the highlight of the day was when a man fishing next to us let Connor reel in 2 fish. Connor was so excited!!

Then we headed over to Cabelas. The boys loved the fish and the animal displays! If you haven't made it over there yet, you are missing out! Randy was in man heaven for sure!!! I couldn't even get the boys to look at the camera...they were so into the fish!!

The "Yucky" Truck!

The Ice Cream Truck seems like it is stalking our neighborhood! It makes its rounds about 3 times a day, blaring music to let all the kids know it is around. Randy told Connor a while back that it was the yucky truck. So everytime Connor sees it he says "Yucky Truck!" Well, yesterday it happened...one of the neighbor kids decided they wanted ice cream. So the ice cream truck parked right infront of the house. Connor came running to me all excited..."The yucky truck! The yucky truck!"

He was watching it out the window when he discovered all the pictures of ice cream all over it. His eyes got really big and he yelled ICE CREAM!!!! He had been swimming in the back so he ran upstairs to get changed so he could go outside. While he was getting dressed he saw the truck pull away and he lost it. The poor kid was just beside himself. He was sobbing because the ice cream truck left him. I ended up taking him down to the neighborhood gas station to get an ice cream cone. Poor guy! The ice cream truck was making its second round as we got back...it might turn out to be a long summer!

Connor's Capris

What's Up With That?? Connor has located a box of old clothes in the garage and decided he wants to wear his old pants again. So he squeezes into them. I'm sure only toddlers can get away with this!! On Saturday I could not get him to take it off before some errands so we took him along as is... this was the result.

Randy put him in the front cart because he kept wandering off. But those are not capris. He is 4 years old and wearing size 12 months pants!! He was so proud of his pants. Silly boy!

Dinosaur Museum

I decided to take the boys up to the Dinosaur Museum for a Dinosaur Birthday Party Celebration they were holding. There was way too many people around so it turned out to be more stressful for me than anything. But the boys had a pretty good time.

They had balloon artists there so the boys both got a T-Rex balloon.

They even had a life size dinosaur in the foyer. It was so big I had a hard time getting a picture of it. It was made of over 3,000 balloons.

The real T-Rex is on the right.Kyler standing infront of the shark display. I was mainly looking forward to the stand/water table and the digging room at the end for Connor. But he was not interested in either??!! Go figure. Kyler enjoyed them though.

Connor's Big Boy Bike

Connor's best friend has had a "big boy bike" for almost a year now and Connor tries to ride it everytime it is out. So we decided that would make a perfect birthday present. Well, it took about 3 weeks to come in, but Connor loves it! It is a Bumblee Transformers 16 inch bike. He doesn't remember the movie but it is a cool looking bike.

He even figured out how to come up the hill in our circle without having to stop and push. He is getting so big!!!

Ever wonder how a grown man on roller blades can ride a 16 inch bike? Well, I have a video of it below!!

4th of July

I love Holidays! Especially ones that involve fireworks and parades! This year we decided to do something a little different than what we usually do. We headed up to Silver Lake (American Fork Canyon) and went boating. The boys loved it! Randy headed off early in the morning to Home Depot to get some things for finishing the basement and Connor had a hard time waiting for him. He knew when dad got home we got to go in a boat. The lake was beautiful and very relaxing (except for a couple that decided to have a screaming fight with each other). But we rowed to the other side of the lake to get away from the chaos they were causing.

The boys loved running through the water. Kyler was covered in mud by the end of the trip. We ended the day by going to the fireworks at Thanksgiving Pointe. I now understand why a good amount of people left before the finale. It took 1 1/2 hours to get out of the parking lot!! Crazy!!

My Very Own Tortoise

I'm so excited I finally got my own SBI tortoise! It has found a permanent home on my laptop. I finally have a friend by my side as a constant reminder of the Sitesell way..."Slow and steady wins the race." Most of you will not have a clue what I am talking about. But if you are familiar with Sitesell, the hosting company I use to run my website...you will know the mascot is the Turtle. Ken Evoy- the owner of sitesell sent little turtle figurines to everyone who attended the cruise.

Throughout the action guide and other books he has written to help people understand how to run a website, he uses the turtle over and over as an example of how you should be with your website. With so many get quick rich schemes out there, I am glad that there is a real company that teaches that steady constant work leads to a successful website.
Incase it is hard to see, the turtle is wearing headphones and is working on its laptop. There is a coffee cup sitting next to it.

Now I just need to name her. :)
